Well what a night! I hope everyone who came along last night to support our Race Night is recovering well from their hangovers. We smashed our target amount that will allow us to give the kids a real treat and a great experience to take in a top end Premier League game. We are still awaiting a final count but early counts showed that after DJ costs, Hall hire Etc we have raised a near staggering £2000! Well done everyone
Massive thanks to our Race Night host Russell Stewart who put in a great, enjoyable night for everyone, we were both a bit pessimistic about the turnout but those fears were quelled with the generosity of those who attended.
We're very grateful to Dalkeith Rugby Club for hosting us last night, the bar staff were great and the regulars in the bar were fantastic coming through to place bets, buy raffles, bid on items and were generally a good laugh. They also helped eat away at our over provided buffet
Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and turned up, bought raffle tickets and placed bids in the auction
Thank you to our Race sponsors D&S McLean Decorators Ltd, R8 Engine Carbon Cleaning, Simply Sheds, John Bernard, Tali Construction Ltd, G and L Ices , Little Business Helper, GM Inspections
We would like to acknowledge all the companies who helped us on the night with donations so thank you to Baynes the Bakers, G&L Ices, iCandi, Petes Tatoo Studio, Boombarbers, Claire Lawson Photography, The Camera Obscura, The Glasshouse, Markle Fisheries, Dawn Grey Medium, Ryze Adventure Parks, The Edinburgh Butterfly World, Headrush, Waxilicious, Dark Lite Tatoo Studio and everyone who handed bottles, hampers and smelly goods
A great auction saw a signed Hibs top edge out a signed Hearts top to take the highest bidder item with £110 and £100 respectively, Signed Rangers top went for £50 and a signed print of local boy Darren Fletcher fetched £40 in the auction.
Finally a massive thanks to Parents of the team, who all took the stress of the event off of Paul and I. We really appreciate everything they done on the night, in particular Natalie Dobson making sure the hall was gleaming at the end of the night and Michelle Baxter without whom the night wouldn't have been the success it was, she really had been a star the last few weeks
As you can see there is a lot of people to thank and I apologise to anyone I've missed out. Thanks for making the night what it was and helping us give our team of Cup winning kids the experience in football they deserve.
Our guests from last night are already asking when next years race night will take place
Thanks again
Stuart and Paul
