Another good game from the kids as extended our run of wins to 5. First off we would like to thank Ally, John and Danielle at Civil Service Strollers Football Club – Youth for hosting us today and for giving us the later kick off after our trip to St James’ Park yesterday, we really appreciate guys 👏🏻

We decided to try a new formation and give the kids a shot in positions they aren’t used to so they could gain experience in different roles. We started quite brightly creating a few decent chances that went begging. It wasn’t until midway through the 1st half that the deadlock when Lenny Sneddon poked the ball home from close range. A couple of minutes later Euan Brownlee doubled our lead with a wicked shot from around the halfway mark found its way into the net. Just before half time Shayne McRae made the most of a goal mouth scramble to slot home and send us into the break 0-3 up.
Into the second half and the Strollers were fired up and playing some good pressing play not giving our defence a minutes rest and pulled the score back to 2-3 early in the second half to put the nerves into the watching parents. We restored our 2 goal cushion when Shay Pattyput pressure on the hosts goal keeper and the ball found its way to Ross Bruce who fired high into the net to notch his first goal of the season. Jack Thomson took the ball on a great run to extend the lead again soon after Ross’s goal before the hosts started another good fight back with good counter attacking play and the score was 4-5 with minutes remaining. Jack went down after a strong 50/50 and took a bad knock to the throat, after great sportsmanship from the Strollers giving the ball back to Brian in goals from the bounce ball, Jack dusted himself down and his mirauding run ended with him firing into the net which saw is inch out the game

Kids unanimously voted Jack Thomson man of the match, and you can hear in his voice in the interview how bad the knock to his throat is 👏🏻🍾
