Edinburgh South 2-7 Easthouses FC

⚽️ Lenny Sneddon x3
⚽️ Jack Thomson x3
⚽️ Shay Patterson

Couldn’t be prouder of the kids today after what I felt was one of their best performances of the season. We started really sharp today and had already created a number of chances before we broke the deadlock on the 3rd minute when Lenny Sneddon poked home from close range. Our passing game was top class today and we pressed the hosts deep in their half and forced errors. Lenny picked the ball up from midfield on the 7th Minute and drive into the Edinburgh half, beating 2 players and firing into the far corner. Soon after some great link up play between Shayne and Jack ended with Jack finding the net. The hosts got on the score sheet soon after the restart after a defensive mix up and nearly got a second within seconds of that but Brian Wilson gathered the ball and quickly released Jack Thomson on the the left flank who raced into the acres of space and his left footed shot ended up in the back of the net, a terrific counter attacking goal. Into the break 1-4 up and looking good.
The game was a lot more settled at the start of the second half with little in the way of chances being created for either side. Midway through the second half Shay picked the ball up in the middle of the pitch and he cut inside to unleash a great long range curling effort finding the top corner of the far post putting us 1-5 up. This goal put the kids up a gear and we started to create chance after chance again with a lot of great saves keeping us from adding to our tally. Into the last 10 minutes and Lenny Sneddon finally completed his hat trick scoring from inside the box quickly followed by Jack also completing his hat trick after shaking of his marker in the middle of the field and firing low into the corner. Edinburgh South added a late consolation shortly before full time to end the game 2-7

Kids voted man of the match to Lenny Sneddon and it was well deserved 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍾⚽️🔥

Special mention to Cayden Carroll who turned up today in full kit determined to play but was told no due to a recent concussion, but he stayed to cheer the boys on. Speedy recovery Cayden 🤕
The kids were outstanding today and were at the top of their game today. They made good decisions all over the park, communicated excellently with each other and really worked as a team. Paul and I were delighted to see some of the work in training make its way on the tho park as we played high and wide from the back. Phenomenal display today everyone, enjoy the rest of your weekend
