Massive thanks to Graham and his Edinburgh South team for hosting us today, not easy when you have just started taking a team and we did our best to help him with setting goals up and everything. Great performance from the kids today in some difficult conditions. We had to battle back from being behind twice which really tested the character of our squad. The pitch was a lot tighter than what were used to and we really found it difficult as we’ve been encouraging playing with width in training and it wasn’t possible today. We managed to take a deserved lead mid way through the first half when debutant Ryley struck the ball low into the net. The hosts hit back with a quick fire double, the first from the penalty spot following Matthews hand ball, to put us behind. Ryley equalised soon after but South responded with a goal of their own to put us behind again. We then got a penalty of our own when Jack was tackled from behind and he dusted himself down and stroked the spot kick home to draw us level before Ryley completed his hat trick sending us into a half time lead.
A quick chat at half time about moving the ball quicker and getting the shots away faster saw us extend our lead. Shay picking the ball up outside the box creating a yard of space and finding the bottom corner with his weaker right foot. Another debutant, Darren, gave us more of a cushion as Edinburgh South started to turn the screw putting us under real pressure with Harry again saving us when we needed him, but the end of the game was very blow for blow, South reducing the deficit before Jay restoring it with Edinburgh responding with another an Darren grabbing the games last goal very late in the game

Player of the Match was a draw getting 4 votes each Darren and Harry 🍾🍾👏🏻👏🏻
